Return the first character (0) of a string:

String myStr = "Hello";
char result = myStr.charAt(0);
System.out.println(result);  // H

Definition and Usage

定义和用法

The charAt() method returns the character at the specified index in a string.

该 charAt() 方法返回字符串中指定索引处的字符。

The index of the first character is 0, the second character is 1, and so on.

第一个字符的索引为 0，第二个字符为 1，以此类推。

public char charAt(int index)

Throws:	`IndexOutOfBoundsException` - if index is negative or not less than the length of the specified string	`IndexOutOfBoundsException`- 如果 index 为负数或不小于指定字符串的长度
